Stalker 2 creeps onto PS5, finally

STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl has now launched on PlayStation 5, concluding its one-year timed exclusivity period on PC and Xbox. A developer from GSC Game World, Zakhar Bocharov, confirmed that the first major DLC is scheduled for a 2026 release. He also noted that a planned transition to a newer Unreal Engine 5 version remains a significant undertaking with no confirmed timeline, though a recent update has already provided substantial optimization improvements.

Bocharov cited the game's commercial performance, including selling one million copies in its first three days and attracting several million players through Game Pass. The studio has released seven major updates over the past year, enhancing performance and adding content. While features like multiplayer and advanced ray tracing are still anticipated, the developer indicated that ongoing updates for the game will continue.
