Tagwirei wife

Sandra Mpunga stands as the wife of Zimbabwean businessman Kudakwashe Tagwirei. She played a major role in building their business empire from the ground up. The couple started their fuel company after Kuda lost his bank job during tough economic times. They sat together in long fuel lines and spotted a business chance when Western companies left Zimbabwe. Sandra helped create the company name Sakunda by combining the two names.

The business partnership gave Sandra 46 percent ownership and Kuda 54 percent of their venture. She went to her former boss, John Mangundya, at CBZ Bank to secure their first loan. This money helped them start trading fuel nationwide. Their monthly contracts reached half a million dollars within six months of operation. Sandra supported every major business decision as they expanded into mining and banking.

American officials placed sanctions on Sandra Mpunga in December 2022. The penalties targeted her connections to her husband and his companies. Government sources claim the couple earned billions through agricultural programs and fuel deals. Critics argue their wealth comes from political relationships rather than fair business practices. Sandra remains active in their business operations despite international restrictions.
