Tanzania courts Qatari tourists at travel mart in Doha

Tanzania's delegation has arrived in Doha for the Qatar Travel Mart, seeking to attract wealthy Gulf visitors to East African safari destinations and coastal attractions. The Tanzania Tourism Board sent representatives to the three-day event, which features global destinations promoting sports tourism, luxury travel, and halal-friendly vacation packages.

Ambassador Habibu Awesi Mohamed welcomed the marketing team, which set up a national pavilion at the exhibition venue. Officials expressed confidence that Qatar's affluent tourism market represents significant growth potential for Tanzanian hospitality providers and wildlife reserves.

The mart connects destination management firms, hotels, cruise lines, and travel technology companies with international buyers. Attendees can explore offerings across business travel, medical tourism, and cultural excursions while networking with industry executives from around the world.
