Actor Taye Arimoro got hit with an indefinite ban from Nigerian film productions after he attacked crew members during a movie shoot and then went online with a fake version of what happened. The Actors Guild of Nigeria teamed up with the Directors Guild and the Association of Movie Producers to investigate the whole mess on the Pieces of Love set, and they found Arimoro started everything by throwing hands at the production manager, plus a driver, before blasting producer Peggy Ovire on social media, even though she was not around when things kicked off.
The guilds ordered Arimoro to post public apologies and corrective videos explaining what actually went down, and he still has to finish his last two scenes under supervision. Ovire caught some heat for chasing Arimoro outside the compound and needs to write formal apologies to the guilds and estate management while promising better set control going forward. The three industry groups said they have zero tolerance for violence or misconduct on Nollywood sets, and they are building a unified safety code for the entire country.
