A young teacher perished when her small car smashed head-on into a massive lorry during morning rush hour. Nurfarah Izyan Ismail was heading home from her teaching job at Sekolah Menengah Agama Al-Basriah when tragedy struck at 9.30 am. The 28-year-old educator lost control of her Perodua Myvi while traveling along Jalan Besar Jengka 20 in Maran. Her vehicle swerved across the road and crashed directly into an oncoming Isuzu truck carrying four workers. Emergency responders found the teacher dead at the crash site.
The truck driver suffered a broken thigh bone from the violent impact that shattered both vehicles. Two younger workers riding in the lorry sustained cuts and bruises but survived the devastating collision. A third passenger walked away completely unharmed despite the force of the crash. Police chief Supt Wong Kim Wai confirmed the victim was returning to her family home in Sungai Gau after finishing classes in Jerantut. Investigators are examining the fatal accident under Road Transport Act regulations to determine what caused the teacher to lose control of her vehicle on the busy highway.
