Trump curses out Netanyahu for killing Gaza deal

President Donald Trump criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday after the Israeli leader questioned Hamas's response to a peace proposal. Trump accused Netanyahu of being excessively pessimistic about the terror group's intentions.

The exchange occurred when Netanyahu suggested Hamas had rejected the American plan. Trump disagreed and characterized the response as progress toward ending the conflict in Gaza. American officials confirmed the tense conversation to Axios.

Netanyahu sought to coordinate Israel's position with Washington to avoid appearing as though Hamas had responded positively. Trump interpreted the group's statement as an opportunity for agreement. The discussion was described as firm but concluded with both leaders reaching a consensus.

Netanyahu later accepted the peace plan, which featured a revised map for potential Israeli Defense Forces withdrawal from Gaza. White House officials emphasized the administration's commitment to achieving regional stability through close coordination with Israel.
