Trump's Aid Cuts Could Cause 14 Million Deaths by 2030, Study Warns

A major medical study warns that President Trump's foreign aid cuts could kill millions of people around the world. The Lancet research shows that more than 14 million extra deaths might happen before 2030 ends. Children face the worst danger from these funding reductions. About 4.5 million kids under five years old could die early because of the policy changes. That equals roughly 700,000 young deaths every single year.

American aid programs have saved countless lives across the globe for decades. Data from 133 countries proves that US funding prevented 91 million deaths between 2001 and 2021. America gives more humanitarian help than any other nation on Earth. The country runs aid operations across more than 60 different nations through various contract workers. These programs provide food, medicine, and emergency support to desperate communities.

Refugee camps in Kenya already show the deadly effects of reduced American funding. A United Nations worker told reporters that hundreds of thousands of people are slowly dying from hunger. Food portions have dropped to the lowest amounts ever recorded at these camps. The Trump team cancelled more than 80 percent of all US Agency for International Development programs back in March. World leaders are gathering in Seville this week for the largest UN aid meeting in ten years.
