Victoria Falls border to run 24 hours a day

The Zimbabwean government has initiated 24-hour daily operations at the Victoria Falls Border Post. Announced through an official gazette, this change aims to significantly boost tourism and cross-border trade with Zambia. The decision provides greater flexibility for tourists visiting the falls and is expected to ease delays for commercial transporters.

Secretary for Home Affairs and Cultural Heritage Raphael Faranisi formally issued the notice under the Immigration Act. The announcement coincided with a meeting between Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his Zambian counterpart, Hakainde Hichilema, suggesting regional cooperation was a priority. The extended hours are intended to streamline movement and economic activity at this critical port of entry.
