Youth Spiritual Summit in Varanasi to spearhead Nasha Mukt Bharat campaign, says Mansukh Mandaviya

Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya revealed plans for a major youth gathering focused on drug prevention. The government will host the Youth Spiritual Summit from July 19 to 20 in Varanasi. More than 500 young delegates from 100 spiritual and social organizations will attend this event. The summit carries the theme Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat.

Mandaviya highlighted alarming statistics about substance abuse among Indian youth. Research shows one in five people aged 10 to 24 has experimented with drugs. Medical institutes report that over 850,000 children currently struggle with addiction problems. The minister emphasized that empowering young people remains essential for national development by 2047.

The gathering will take place along the Ganga River banks. Participants will create the Kashi Declaration outlining a five-year strategy against drug abuse. Multiple government departments will contribute to this initiative. The summit aims to launch a youth-led movement combining spiritual traditions with modern prevention methods.
