Zanu PF appoints Chadenga as new Director General

ZANU PF selected Thadius Pesanai Chadenga as its new Director General, succeeding Brigadier General Ezekiel Zabanyana, who received a different assignment. Secretary General Jacob Mudenda made the announcement in Harare on Tuesday afternoon.

President Mnangagwa relieved Zabanyana of his position and moved him to another role. Chadenga received his appointment on October 6, 2025.

The new director general served as a senior diplomat across the Americas, Europe and Africa. He worked as a senior officer in the President's Department and is a member of the Veterans of the Liberation Struggle.

Mudenda said Chadenga brings extensive administrative experience from his years in diplomatic service across multiple countries.
