Zimbabwe's tax collection agency has secured ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems accreditation, joining just three other African revenue bodies to achieve the international benchmark. Board chair Anthony Mandiwanza announced the milestone during ceremonies launching construction of a permanent headquarters complex in Mount Pleasant, Harare.
The certification validates that Zimra operations align with global efficiency protocols, while the planned facility will house advanced digital infrastructure for modern revenue administration. Mandiwanza emphasized that continuing to rent space from regulated entities compromised the authority's standing, arguing that institutional credibility required independence from taxpayer landlords.
Zimra leadership framed both developments as part of a wider organizational transformation from an enforcement focus toward service delivery, transparency through technology adoption, and voluntary compliance education for taxpayers across the southern African nation.
