Zuma family feud erupts over Ukraine mercenary scandal

Jacob Zuma's eldest daughter has filed criminal charges against her half-sister Duduzile Zuma-Sambudla and two associates at Sandton Police Station, alleging they deceived 17 citizens into traveling to Russia before transferring them to mercenary forces battling in Ukraine. Nkosazana Bonganini Zuma-Mncube claims eight relatives are among those trapped in the conflict zone and argues the recruitment violated trafficking laws, foreign military assistance regulations, and fraud statutes.

The complainant pressed authorities to pursue diplomatic channels for repatriating the stranded nationals while cautioning compatriots against dubious overseas employment schemes. This prosecution deepens existing tensions within the former president's family, as Duduzile previously faced separate allegations related to violent disturbances.

South African nationals have reportedly joined combat operations after receiving offers of substantial monthly compensation, though some fighters have perished in drone attacks and others remain unable to exit the war theater.
