AGI Boss Backs Ghana 24-Hour Economy Gamble

Ghana's top industry group wants to jump on President Mahama's new economic plan. The Association of Ghana Industries loves the 24-hour economy idea that launched Wednesday. Their leader Seth Twum Akwaboah told JoyNews his members have waited ages for this chance. He thinks the policy will boost factories and create thousands of jobs across the country. The group represents major companies that make products and goods throughout Ghana.

Akwaboah admits his organization felt confused at first about what the plan really meant. They worried about running factories all day and night without enough electricity or money. The group thought it just meant working around the clock without proper support. Many factory owners feared they could not afford the extra costs of longer production hours. Energy problems and expensive loans made them nervous about expanding operations.

Everything changed after government officials explained the complete strategy to business leaders. The industry group discovered the policy covers much more than just extended work hours. Officials showed them how the plan addresses energy supply and financing problems. Akwaboah says his members feel excited about the opportunities ahead. The association believes smart leadership will make the ambitious economic program successful for everyone involved.
