Former Bangladesh captain Aminul Islam Bulbul has been elected unopposed as president of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. Faruque Ahmed and Sakhawat Hossain will serve as the board’s vice presidents. The announcement was made by Chief Election Commissioner Mohammad Hossain on Monday after the BCB election took place at a Dhaka hotel from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In the election, 23 directors were chosen from three categories: ten from district and divisional representatives, twelve from Dhaka clubs, and one from former cricketers and nominees from government or autonomous bodies. Two additional members were elected from the National Sports Council quota. After the directors were selected, they voted for the BCB president, but with no other candidates, Bulbul was elected without contest. Bulbul, who previously served as interim president under NSC nomination, has now been officially elected through a full board vote.
