B&H Photo Video preorder frenzy hits Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000WX

B&H Photo Video has begun listing AMD's latest Zen 5 workstation processors ahead of their anticipated market debut. The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9000WX series will accept pre-orders starting July 23rd through the major photography retailer's website. AMD unveiled these professional computing chips at Computex with a July launch window that appears to be materializing. The retailer has prepared four processor variants for advance ordering despite lacking confirmed pricing or shipping dates. Delivery could commence within days of the pre-order launch based on typical retail patterns.

The available models span from 24 cores to 96 cores across the Threadripper PRO lineup. B&H lists the 9995WX flagship with 96 cores and 128 threads alongside three additional variants featuring 64, 32, and 24 processing cores respectively. Two additional models remain absent from current retailer listings, suggesting a phased product rollout strategy. AMD may reserve the 9955WX and 9945X processors for later availability windows. The company appears focused on launching its highest-performance workstation chips first to establish market presence.

Performance benchmarks indicate substantial improvements over previous generation processors and competing Intel solutions. AMD claims 16 percent faster execution in workstation applications compared to predecessor chips. The company reports 25 percent acceleration in artificial intelligence and machine learning tasks with the new architecture. Pricing speculation centers around $10,000 for the flagship model, though AMD has not confirmed official pricing structures. Industry observers expect these processors to target professional workstations requiring extreme computational performance.
