Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX hits 4.9 GHz as Geekerwan uses BMW M4 radiator

Geekerwan experimented with automotive cooling components to overclock the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX processor. The tech enthusiast replaced standard computer cooling with a BMW M4 radiator measuring 600x350mm. This radiator provided five times more surface area than conventional 360mm coolers. Toyota Highlander fans rated at 100W each supplied airflow to the massive cooling system. The pump delivered 1200 liters per hour, ten times faster than typical computer coolers.

The modified setup pushed all 96 processor cores to 4.9 GHz during testing. Cinebench R23 scores reached 187,153 points under these conditions. Power consumption exceeded 2000W during operation, double that of liquid nitrogen setups. Despite the automotive components, liquid nitrogen cooling remains superior for extreme overclocking. Previous records using liquid nitrogen achieved 5.8 GHz across all cores, substantially higher than the car radiator configuration.
