AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX hits 5 GHz, smashes Cinebench with 186800 points

AMD's flagship workstation processor reached new performance heights through extreme overclocking tests. The Ryzen Threadripper PRO 9995WX achieved a stable 5 GHz frequency across all 96 cores during benchmark trials. Testers recorded a Cinebench R23 score of 186,800 points, representing a 70 percent improvement over the previous generation 7995WX model. The system consumed 947 watts of power while maintaining a peak temperature of 98 degrees Celsius under standard liquid cooling. Advanced testing utilized an ASUS Pro WS motherboard with 144 GB of DDR5-6000 memory.

The flagship processor features 96 cores with 192 threads and operates at a base frequency of 2.5 GHz with boost speeds reaching 5.4 GHz. AMD built the chip using TSMC's 4-nanometer manufacturing process with a standard thermal design power rating of 350 watts. The company plans to release the entire Threadripper 9000 series on July 23rd with the top model carrying an $11,699 price tag.
