Bangladesh batters and bowlers crush Sri Lanka as Dambulla erupts in T20I rout

Bangladesh delivered a commanding 83-run victory over Sri Lanka during Sunday's second Twenty20 International at Dambulla. The triumph leveled the three-match series at one game apiece. A decisive third encounter will take place in Colombo on July 16. The visitors defended their total of 177 runs by dismissing the hosts for merely 93 runs within 15.2 overs. This comprehensive performance marked a complete turnaround from their opening match defeat.

Captain Litton Das anchored the batting effort with an elegant 76 runs from 50 deliveries. His innings ended a prolonged drought for half-centuries in this format. The wicketkeeper batsman struck five maximums while guiding his team from early difficulties. Bangladesh stumbled to 39 for two wickets during the powerplay phase. Das formed productive partnerships with Towhid Hridoy and Shamim Hossain to rebuild the innings.

Leg-spinner Rishad Hossain spearheaded the bowling attack with figures of three wickets for 18 runs. Shoriful Islam dismantled the top order by claiming two wickets for 12 runs. The disciplined bowling performance received support from exceptional fielding throughout the chase. Sri Lanka lost wickets at regular intervals after reaching 30 for three wickets. Only Pathum Nissanka managed meaningful resistance with 32 runs before falling to stumping.
