Bufunda Ward in Chaos as Water Outage Drags On

People in Bufunda Ward cannot use their water taps. The pipes broke during road work three weeks ago, so many families must walk far away to find clean water for drinking and washing.

"We feel very sad about this problem. Our families and shops need water every day," said one person who lives there. The leader of Bufunda, Mr. Benon Kaimutsya, says many important places like schools and hospitals cannot work properly without water.

Some people worry they might become sick because they have to use dirty water from unsafe places. They want the National Water and Sewerage Corporation to fix this problem quickly.

Ms. Agnes Amanya runs the water company office in Ibanda. She tells everyone her workers are trying hard to repair the broken pipes. "We understand this makes life difficult for people. Our team is working to bring clean water back to all homes," she said.

The road construction makes it harder to fix the pipes, but Ms. Amanya promises they will solve this problem soon. The people of Bufunda hope the water will come back fast because they need it for their daily lives.
