Do you think that capitalism as an economic system has the capability to address the issues concerning inequality in regards to the difference between the rich and the poor?
Capitalism is managed scarcity for profit and if capitalism works fine, why are all these regulations needed to prevent capitalists from messing up the environment and screwing over workers?
I think slavery corrupted capitalism and turned it into what might be called exploitative (predatory) capitalism. Proof of this is how capitalism turned to other humanitarian abuses after slavery ended such as over-working and under-paying workers.
