Eighth suspect in Mutangadura murder case appears in court

Another arrest was made in a high-profile farm murder case. An additional suspect named Ephraim Alphas appeared in Harare court on murder and armed robbery charges related to the killing of businessman Joseph Mutangadura. This brings the total number of people arrested to eight. The incident occurred at Mutangadura's Hideout Farm last August, where a group of approximately seven masked intruders broke into the home.

The state alleges the armed men tied up a security guard, Bonus Kadiwa, before entering the house. They shot Joseph Mutangadura in his bedroom while he slept. His wife Patience and their fourteen-year-old son Ryan were also present during the home invasion. The suspects looted the property before fleeing the scene. Joseph Mutangadura was pronounced dead at a clinic in Ruwa after the attack.

Magistrate Musaiona Shotgamne advised the accused to seek bail through the High Court. Police investigations remain active as they continue searching for other individuals connected to the crime.
