Fiapre court remands Blackige, Dodzi, Yeboah

Three men have been placed in police custody after being charged with stealing a service firearm from security personnel at the Ahafo Newmont Mines operation in Ntotroso near Kenyase. The Fiapre Circuit Court ordered Joseph Blackige, Kwabena Dodzi, and Adu Yeboah Abraham held pending further proceedings, while an 18-year-old woman named Priscilla Awuni received bail for continued questioning.

The National Counter Terrorism Unit conducted an intelligence-based operation that resulted in the arrests and recovery of evidence, including BB cartridges, suspected gunpowder, and approximately GH¢28,844 in cash. Blackige reportedly admitted transferring the stolen Beretta pistol to Dodzi after initial questioning, then guided officers to Abraham's residence, where the materials were found.

The court is scheduled to review the case again as investigators work to complete their examination of the theft and possession charges. Chief Inspector Thomas Akeelah from the Bono Regional Police Command confirmed the details through an official statement.
