Five Killed in Separate Road Accidents in Uttara and Bijoy Sarani Early Sunday

Two deadly crashes claimed five lives during early morning hours Sunday across Dhaka. The first incident occurred around 3 am when a heavy truck carrying stones struck several people walking along a street. Three men died from their injuries sustained during this collision. Police officers arrested the truck operator and impounded the vehicle after the crash.

The victims from the first accident were identified as Naimul Haque, Amit and Javed Alam Khan. Two people died immediately at the scene of the truck collision. Medical staff at a nearby hospital could not save the third victim despite emergency treatment efforts. Uttara East Police Station chief Golam Mostafa confirmed these details about the fatal incident.

A second crash happened approximately one hour later around 4 am near Bijoy Sarani. A small passenger bus struck two people riding a motorcycle during this accident. Both motorcycle riders died instantly from the impact of the collision. Emergency responders could not determine the names of these victims immediately after the crash.

The bus operator fled the scene before police officers arrived to investigate. Kafrul Police Station chief Abdullah Al Mamun said investigators are examining security camera recordings from the area. Officers hope video evidence will help them locate the missing vehicle and its driver. Police continue searching for the person responsible for the second deadly accident.
