Ghana Police Arrest Man with Drugs Hidden in Maize Sacks

Police caught a man carrying drugs hidden inside corn sacks during a bust in the Eastern Region. Officers stopped Christopher Saigoe driving a bus on Monday and found something suspicious. They searched his vehicle and discovered five bags that looked like they contained regular maize. The bags actually held 78 packages of what appeared to be marijuana wrapped in tape.

Police say criminals often hide drugs this way to avoid getting caught. The arrest happened as part of efforts to stop drug dealers who use buses and other transport to move illegal substances around Ghana. Saigoe remains locked up and helps investigators with their case. He will face court charges once police finish checking all the evidence.

The Ghana Police Service wants citizens to stay alert and report strange activities they notice. Drug trafficking remains a serious problem that affects communities across the country. Officers continue working to break up criminal networks that smuggle narcotics through different regions. This latest arrest shows how traffickers try creative methods to transport their illegal goods without detection.
