Govt Neglect Sparks Classroom Chaos Hero Donor Rescues School

Kawoko-Kyaziiza Church of Uganda Primary School has big problems. This school in Bukomansimbi District doesn't have enough classrooms. The bathrooms are also very bad. But something good happened! A kind man named Hamiddu Sseremba gave help to the school.

The school belongs to the government under UPE. Many students must share one classroom. This makes learning very hard. Paul Ssegawa, who helps run the school, said the buildings make teaching difficult.

"Sometimes Primary Four learns math at the same time Primary Five studies science in the same room. Students feel confused because they hear different teachers talking," he said.

Mr. Ssegawa also told everyone about another problem. Boys and girls must use the same toilet. This isn't safe or healthy for the children.

The people who live near the school tried to help. They built a simple classroom. But rain and wind broke it down. This made teachers and parents very sad.

Alex Jjunju leads Kawoko-Kyaziiza village. He said the school creates big problems for families. Other government schools are far away. Some private schools exist nearby, but many families can't pay for them.

Trees being cut down makes these problems worse. When people remove trees and harm wetlands, rain damages more buildings. Rain has harmed many other schools in the area too.

Mr. Sseremba grew up in this place. He gave metal sheets to fix the broken classroom. Everyone feels thankful for his kindness.

Mr. Sseremba said the government should do more. He thinks they need to make better school buildings for children.

Parents and teachers thanked Mr. Sseremba for his gift. They asked other nice people to help their school.

Mubaraka Ssebuufu works for the Bukomansimbi government. He promised the district would build new toilets soon. He also said next year the government will give money for a new classroom.

Mr. Ssebuufu shared that rain damaged four schools in their district. The government doesn't have enough money to fix everything right away.

"We need more people like Mr. Sseremba to help schools. This will give students and teachers a safe place to learn," he said.
