Greene quits after Trump fallout over Epstein

Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene has declared she will resign from her seat in January. The Georgia Republican announced her decision following a public break with President Donald Trump.

Their rift developed from her advocacy for releasing government documents related to Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Trump subsequently withdrew his political endorsement, describing Greene as wacky and pledging to support a primary challenger.

Greene stated that defending victims of powerful men should not result in being called a traitor by a president she supported. She expressed unwillingness to endure a destructive primary contest, citing self-respect and concern for her district. Her final day in office will be January 5.
