Intel's Panther Lake 10-core chip revealed in tests

An engineering sample of Intel's upcoming Panther Lake processor, identified as a Core Ultra 3 series chip, has been documented. This early unit features a ten-core design combining two performance cores, four efficiency cores, and four low-power efficiency cores.

The chip operates with a base power of 25 watts, though it can temporarily draw up to 65 watts for boosted performance. Its tested base clock speed was 3.0 GHz. The sample was paired with 16 GB of LPDDR5X memory on a reference evaluation platform.

This specific core configuration does not appear in recently leaked product lineups, suggesting it may be an internal test model. Final production chips are anticipated to support faster memory speeds.
