Kedah flood evacuees drop to 107 as water levels recede

The number of flood evacuees at a temporary relief center in Kedah has continued to decline as conditions improve, with 107 people from 32 families remaining as of this morning.

Kedah Civil Defense Force (APM) deputy director Major Muhammad Suhaimi Mohd Zain said the evacuees are staying at the Sekolah Kebangsaan Langgar relief center, which has been operational since Sunday.

The evacuees come from various areas, including Kampung Alor Raja, Makam Diraja, Limbong, and several others in the Langgar/Limbong subdistricts.

The water level at Sungai Janing in Padang Terap has reached 26.21 meters, surpassing the warning level of 26 meters, while Sungai Pendang in Pendang recorded 2.34 meters, just above the alert level of 2.3 meters.
