NAIROBI, Kenya — Deputy President Kithure Kindiki says there is no split in the government. He wants Kenyans to support President William Ruto this year.
Mr. Kindiki spoke at a wedding on Saturday. It was for the son of a cabinet member. Mr. Kindiki said he was on a short vacation. The president had given him a few days off.
"Enjoy the holiday," Mr. Kindiki said. "Pay no attention to small issues. We have important work to do."
Mr. Kindiki feels ready to go. He thinks 2025 will be a big year, and he wants everyone to help the president make Kenya better.
