Makandiwa Offers $1 Million to Reveal Pocket Contents

The Million Dollar Challenge has spread across social media platforms, and many people feel differently about it. A Bible scholar cautioned United Family International Church founder Prophet Emmanuel Makandiwa that he might be stepping into a trap set by the Devil.

Prophet Makandiwa dared regular people, traditional healers, and fellow prophets to show their claimed supernatural abilities. He promised one million US dollars to anyone who correctly named what he placed in his pocket during a public test. He admitted he would need to borrow money if someone succeeded.

The challenge has reached citizens of Nigeria, Kenya, and Uganda. Prophet Makandiwa explained the test during his announcement. Participants simply need to reveal what object they placed in their pockets without prayers or complicated steps.

He promised to create a binding agreement with witnesses present. He stated he lacked the funds right now but would sign a contract allowing the winner to take legal action. He emphasized the serious nature of his offer rather than making light of it.

Prophet Makandiwa offered to cover travel costs for foreign participants. They must repay these expenses if they fail the test. His main goal seems to be exposing those who falsely claim supernatural powers.

Bible Scholar Fungai Maponga criticized the approach. Maponga respects Makandiwa as a teacher but believes offering money was a mistake that hurt the spiritual purpose. He compared it to biblical stories where Jesus faced temptation but responded with scripture instead of material offers.

Maponga suggested Prophet Makandiwa should admit his error since money challenges contradict biblical teachings. He questioned how Makandiwa differs from those he criticizes when he also focuses on financial rewards. Maponga said a demon cannot remove another demon.

Prophet Passion Java responded with his counter-challenge. Java posted on social media that he would bring someone who could not walk on Sunday. He offered ten million dollars if Makandiwa healed that person.

A prophet from Chitungwiza called Miracle Paul warned potential participants about possible consequences. Some supporters defended Prophet Makandiwa by comparing him to the biblical prophet Elijah, who confronted false prophets of Baal.

When reporters from H-Metro tried to interview Prophet Makandiwa, his spokesperson, Prophet Prime Kufa, turned them away. Kufa mentioned that numerous media groups had asked for comments. He said Makandiwa felt he had already said everything necessary in his social media post.
