Police issued an arrest warrant for singer Ashton Mbeu Nyahora after he dodged responsibility for a car crash. The musician hit another car at a Harare intersection on New Year's Day. He avoided the other driver for four months after the accident. Mbeu started talking only after police stepped in with the warrant. His Toyota Aqua crashed into Patikayi Murisa's Peugeot 407 at Borrowdale Road.
Murisa tried reaching Mbeu many times without success. The singer claimed he felt sick when talking to police after the crash. He directed Murisa to speak with Faith Mashami, who said she no longer lived with Mbeu. Murisa described five months of frustration trying to contact the musician. He kept his damaged car parked at home, waiting for Mbeu to pay for repairs.
Mbeu admitted he delayed fixing the problem, but says he wants to meet on Thursday. He almost died in what he called a horrible accident that happened just before his daughter's birthday. Mbeu posted online that God gave him another chance at life. He promised to make it up to his daughter, Imelah Nyahora.
