Mnangagwa Urges Opposition to Demand Results

President Emmerson Mnangagwa has called on opposition lawmakers to hold the ruling party accountable in Parliament. He made these remarks during a visit to his family's Pricabe Farm. The President welcomed legislators from both Zanu PF and the opposition CCC party.

The President said it's very important for Zimbabwe to remain able to feed itself. He stated that the government would keep supporting farmers at all levels, which is better than spending money on food imports.

President Mnangagwa noted that climate change has brought challenges like droughts. The government is working to increase the amount of irrigated land in the country. This will help ensure food security even when there isn't enough rain.

The First Family's farm grows crops like maize, potatoes, and soya beans and raises livestock. The President said they use modern equipment and learn from other farmers. He and the First Lady both come from farming backgrounds.

First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa was happy to welcome the opposition lawmakers to the farm. She said this kind of unity visit was rare in the past. She sees all the legislators as her children and thanks them for coming.

The Speaker of Parliament, Jacob Mudenda, said the President showed that economic freedom is achievable. Many government officials and traditional leaders also attended the farm tour.
