General Muhoozi Kainerugaba named Brigadier General Chris Bagonza as the new Chief of Staff for UPDF Land Forces based at Bombo headquarters. Bagonza previously worked as Deputy Joint Staff Human Resource Management at UPDF Services Headquarters in Mbuya under Brigadier General Jimmy Kinalwa. He takes over from Brigadier General Michael Kabango, who became the Commandant at Senior Command and Staff College, Kimaka in Jinja.
The military leader also picked Colonel Nelson Ahebwa for the position of Deputy Joint Staff Chief Political Commissar of the UPDF. Major General Henry Masiko leads this department currently. Both military appointments start right away without delay.
