Museveni showers billions on Rubirizi hails zero corruption

President Museveni said nice things about Rubirizi District. He likes how they use the Parish Development Model money with honesty. He visited the area on Tuesday. He started looking at PDM work in the Ankole area after spending a week in Kigezi.

President Museveni talked to people who received PDM money. He also met with district leaders. He felt happy because nobody told him bad things about how the program runs in Rubirizi.

"Rubirizi seems free from people stealing PDM money. I did not hear anyone complain. You spent the PDM money the right way—keep doing good work," he said.

The president told people each parish will have 800 million shillings in two years if they use the money well. He said the government does not want this money back.

"After two more times of NRM leading, you will have lots of money. We do not ask you to return any money to the government—government has plenty," President Museveni said.

During his visit, President Museveni gave a farmer named Desirata Tumusiime 10 million shillings as a gift. He gave 1 million shillings each to ten other farmers.

Rubirizi District has 53 parishes. These parishes received 13 billion shillings for PDM. The district gave 11.9 billion shillings to 11,162 people. They still need to hand out 2.6 billion more.

President Museveni plans to spend three days in Ankole. He will go to Rubirizi, Sheema, and Ibanda on the first day. He will visit Mbarara and Bushenyi on Wednesday. His last stop will be Rwampara where he plans to speak to many people at a big meeting.
