President Yoweri Museveni declared that cattle rustling and insecurity in Karamoja had been permanently eliminated under the leadership of the National Resistance Movement. The president addressed journalists at Morulinga State Lodge in Napak District on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, while campaigning for the 2026 elections.
Uganda People's Defence Forces collaborated with residents to restore regional stability after corruption weakened earlier security arrangements. Military forces defeated criminals who attempted raids while the UPDF 5th Division was away for training exercises.
