ZANU-PF Member of Parliament Energy Mutodi, who chaired the Portfolio Committee on Budget, Finance, and Investment Promotion, has responded after losing his role. The ZANU-PF-led Committee on Standing Rules and Orders removed him immediately, according to a letter signed by the ZANU-PF Speaker of the Parliament and Chairperson, Advocate Jacob Mudenda. Mutodi’s dismissal came after he publicly criticized government corruption and named George Guvamatanga, the permanent secretary in the Ministry of Finance. Critics argue that this action highlights the risks associated with challenging corruption within ZANU-PF, as it can lead to the abrupt termination of a parliamentary career.
