Nation Mourns KNUST Student Joana Yabani Funeral Today

People will bury Joana Deladem Yabani today at New Ashongman. The funeral will happen on Saturday morning at Jehovah Shammah Assemblies of God Church. Joana went to KNUST before she died on February 27. Her death shocked everyone across Ghana. She had gone to campus for exam preparation when someone killed her. Police found her body near the university disability center.

Officers say Daniel Tuffour, her boyfriend, murdered her. His court case moves forward as they gather facts. The awful event made many people angry about safety at schools. Parents, students, and support groups demand better protection for young women. They want justice for what happened to Joana. Her death sparked big talks about stopping attacks against women everywhere.

Her parents—Dr. John Yabani and Mrs. Rejoice Yabani live on without their daughter. Eight brothers and sisters miss her deeply every day. The family plans another church service for next Sunday, April 13. They will thank God for the years they shared with Joana. Friends remember her bright smile and kind heart during this hard time.

Her story reminds us how we must act fast to keep young people safe from harm. Schools need better ways to protect students from danger. Communities must teach respect for all lives. The pain her family feels shows why we need to change right away. Nobody should fear violence when they go to class or meet friends.

Many hearts break as they say goodbye to such a promising young person. Her memory stays alive through those who loved her most. As the case against Daniel continues, people hope the truth comes out clearly. Joana deserved her full life ahead—college, career, dreams, and happiness. Her sad story pushes Ghana to make sure this never happens again to anyone else's daughter.
