Ndlovu Parties with Warriors as Birthday Gifts Spark Hope

Former soccer star Peter Ndlovu spent his 52nd birthday with the Mighty Warriors women's team. He gave them presents and wished them good luck.

The Mighty Warriors play against Angola today at Lucas Moripe Stadium in South Africa. The game starts at 3 pm. They need to win because they lost their first match 2-1 in Luanda last Thursday. If they win today, they will play Malawi next. The winner of that match will go to the Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco next year.

Peter Ndlovu visited the team and brought gifts to make them feel happy before their important match. He even promised to buy tickets for fans who want to watch the game.

"Football needs players. That's where credit should always go," Peter said. "Thank you all. We must celebrate you, our Queens. I brought my wife to celebrate you on my birthday."

Peter told the players they could still win even though they lost the first game. "You should have faith. When you have faith, you have hope, and you can win. Keep believing in yourselves."

Peter is a brand ambassador for Zororo-Phumulani, a Zimbabwean company in South Africa. The company helped plan the birthday visit with the team.

Coach Sithethelelwe Sibanda wants her players to score more goals in this match. The team missed many chances to score in their last game, but Angola scored twice from their few chances.

"We tried to fix many things. The most important part was using our scoring chances," said Coach Sibanda. "We did everything else right last time, but we need to stay calm when shooting."

The coach might change one player from the last game. Christabel Katona might replace Danai Bhobho in the starting team.
