The new Nintendo Switch 2 has a bigger and better screen. It measures 7.9 inches, compared to the first Switch's 6.2 inches. Thanks to its 1080p display, instead of the old 720p, you'll see sharper pictures. The screen also shows brighter colors with High Dynamic Range and works smoothly with Variable Refresh Rate through NVIDIA G-SYNC. Games can run at up to 120 frames per second on this display.
People who have the Switch OLED might feel a bit sad since the new screen isn't OLED. This means blacks won't look as deep and dark as they do on OLED screens. Nintendo's tech boss, Tetsuya Sasaki, talked about why they picked LCD. He said they looked at all the latest screen options and decided LCD made the most sense right after lots of thinking about it.
