Payday Bar Brawl Turns Deadly in Rukiga

A worker died after a fight about money at a local drinking spot. Bright Hakiri was 30 years old and lived near the Rushayo Cell area. He worked laying bricks alongside other men on various construction jobs. The men had been drinking at Ninsiima's bar on Saturday evening. They started arguing about wages from their latest building project.

Hakiri and his coworker, Nkurunungi Fortune, disagreed about payment amounts. The two had finished bricklaying work at Twebaze Evalisit's construction site. Their argument became heated during their drinking session. Both men left the bar angry and continued fighting later. They attacked each other with wooden sticks at their shared residence.

The supervisor found Hakiri unconscious the next morning. He called a doctor right away to help the injured man. Medical staff arrived quickly but could not save Hakiri's life. The doctor declared him dead at the scene. His family received the body for funeral arrangements.

Police officers came to investigate the violent incident immediately. They collected evidence and talked to people who saw the fight. A medical examiner performed tests on Hakiri's body. Officers documented everything carefully at the crime location. Regional spokesman Elly Maate confirmed all these details about the case.

Two men face arrest for the deadly attack. Fortune and another suspect, Brian Twinamatsiko, remain locked up. Police continue asking them questions about what happened. The investigation remains active as officers gather more information. Both suspects must cooperate with authorities to help them understand the full story.
