PDP Chieftain Accuses INEC of Colluding with APC to Block Coalition

A top opposition party member says election officials work with the government to block new political groups. Ibrahim Kalgo from the PDP thinks INEC refuses to register over 70 party applications because they fear competition. He believes the election commission helps the ruling APC instead of staying neutral during the process.

Kalgo spoke on television Friday morning about these registration problems. The opposition leader thinks INEC worries that new parties will challenge the current government successfully. He questions whether all 70 groups really failed to meet the basic requirements for starting political organizations.

The PDP member pointed out legal rules that should help these applications move forward faster. Election laws say INEC must respond within 90 days or automatically approve new party requests. Kalgo thinks the commission deliberately ignores these time limits to protect the ruling party from stronger opposition.

The coalition wants to offer voters fresh choices during the next presidential race. Many different groups try to combine their efforts into one strong movement against the current administration. Kalgo believes INEC blocks these plans because officials fear losing control over election outcomes across Nigeria.
