Ruto vows crackdown on Nyeri, Meru, Embu, Kirinyaga protest vandals

President William Ruto delivered a stern ultimatum to violent protesters who wrecked property during recent demonstrations nationwide. The commander-in-chief accused troublemakers of orchestrating calculated destruction rather than spontaneous outbursts of anger. Ruto specifically targeted vandals who caused mayhem in Nyeri, Murang'a, Meru, Embu and Kirinyaga counties during the chaotic protests. He rejected any notion that pursuing legal action against perpetrators constitutes political persecution or vendetta tactics. The president emphasized that government officials must protect both public facilities and private businesses from criminal damage.

Ruto issued direct threats against politicians who funded violence or encouraged destructive behavior among demonstrators. He warned that law enforcement agencies possess constitutional authority to arrest anyone responsible for inciting chaos regardless of their social status. The head of state declared his patience had reached its breaking point after tolerating prolonged lawlessness across the country. He challenged opposition leaders to focus on development proposals instead of promoting hatred and tribal divisions among citizens. Ruto made these comments while attending the ninth Kaptagat Integrated Conservation Programme event in Simotwo, Elgeyo Marakwet County.

The president urged religious and political figures to stop manipulating young people into participating in violent activities. He accused selfish leaders of exploiting youth to revive their failing political ambitions through destructive means. Ruto emphasized that Kenya must reflect on whether continued violence serves the national interest or undermines progress. He vowed that police would pursue all criminals who burned businesses and destroyed property during the protests. The president stressed that rule of law must prevail to safeguard lives and economic infrastructure.
