Kenya Power Announces Wednesday Outages Across Six Counties.
Kenya Power will cut electricity in parts of six counties on Wednesday for scheduled maintenance work. The outages will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The affected regions include sections of Nairobi, Kisumu, Kwale, Nandi, Kakamega, and Kilifi counties. The utility company has apologized for any disruptions to customer service.
In Nairobi, the power cuts will affect Valley Road, several embassies, hotels, and government buildings. Key locations include the EACC, Department of Defense, Middle East Bank, and multiple diplomatic missions.
Nandi County residents near Moi University, Ollessos Technical, and Kamunyebaim will face outages starting at 10 a.m. In Kisumu, the blackouts will impact Nyahera Market, its coffee factory, and Dago Market.
Kakamega County interruptions will hit Ematiha Market, Ewamuhumbi, and surrounding areas. Kwale residents in Galu Primary, Mwabungo, and nearby regions should prepare for outages.
The Kilifi power cuts will affect Kafudini Dispensary, local schools, and surrounding communities, including Volcano, Tifu, and Kokotoni areas.
The maintenance work aims to improve service reliability across these regions. Kenya Power announced on Monday that it would help residents plan for the temporary disruption.
