Seku urges students to embrace skilling hubs for success

Some government coordinator named Hellen Seku showed up at Ankole University, telling students they need to get with the Presidential Skilling Hubs program because unemployment keeps getting worse. She pitched the whole setup to over 500 people at Kabwohe Gardens, saying Museveni dropped free training programs where even dropouts can learn trades for six months and walk out with startup money plus market connections.

Seku mentioned how trainees get housing and food covered while they learn, and the First Lady apparently told government offices to buy furniture from program graduates to help their businesses grow. She hyped up this Graduates Fund launching next year that's supposed to stop young professionals from chasing low-wage gigs in the Middle East. The whole speech was wrapped with the usual election pitch about youth showing up to vote in January.
