An eighteen-year-old man named Enock Eshun was killed after being struck by the newly commissioned train traveling from Tema to Afienya. The incident occurred near the Bediako junction in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality, where the victim was reportedly walking close to the railway tracks.
Authorities from the Community 25 police station transported the body to the Tema General Hospital mortuary. Witnesses suggested the victim, who had hearing and speech impairments, may not have noticed the approaching train.
In a separate but related event, police apprehended a truck driver for unauthorized parking near the same railway junction. The driver was released on enquiry bail while the investigation continues.
