TNM Invests Over K16 Billion to Upgrade Malawi Network

Telekom Networks Malawi spent over 16 billion kwacha to improve phone and internet services across the country. The company upgraded 650 cell towers to make calls clearer and internet faster for millions of people. Four major cities received the most attention during this massive project.

Lloyd Gowera leads technical operations at the phone company. He said customers can expect better voice calls and faster internet speeds after these improvements. The upgrades help people use popular apps like Netflix and YouTube without problems.

The project brought phone service to 400,000 more Malawians who never had good coverage before. Rural areas received special attention during the nationwide improvements. People living outside cities can expect much better connections than before.

TNM has served Malawi for more than 30 years as the country's first mobile phone company. The business introduced many new technologies like 3G and 4G internet to local customers. They also created the popular Mpamba mobile money service that many people use daily.

Company leaders say this upgrade represents just the beginning of their expansion plans. They want to connect every person in Malawi to reliable phone and internet services. The improvements should help businesses and families stay connected across the entire nation.
