Uganda, China Strengthen Military Ties in Meeting with Defence Leaders

Uganda's top military leader met with Chinese defense officials Wednesday morning. General Muhoozi Kainerugaba welcomed Colonel Zhang Hao and Colonel Li Hai at Special Forces Command Headquarters. The Chinese delegation made a formal visit to discuss military partnerships between both countries. Kainerugaba serves as Chief of Defence Forces for Uganda's armed services. The meeting took place at the military facility located in Entebbe.

Military cooperation dominated conversations between the African and Asian representatives. Both sides explored ways to strengthen defense relationships and expand joint programs. Kainerugaba praised China for maintaining strong partnerships with Uganda over many years. He emphasized how important these connections remain for both nations' strategic interests. The Chinese colonels promised continued support for future military collaboration.

Defense technology sharing and training programs represent key areas of cooperation. Uganda and China have expanded their military partnership through various joint initiatives. The relationship has produced advances in defense capabilities across multiple sectors. Training exchanges between both armies have grown more frequent in recent years. Technology transfers have helped modernize Uganda's military equipment and systems.
