Victim, vigilante and kidnapper die in Kwara rescue shootout

Security forces found a kidnapped businessman dead after a gun battle with criminals Monday in Kwara State. Alhaji Dauda Ismail died from machete cuts during the rescue attempt at Korori village. Armed groups worked together to search forest areas for the missing man. Soldiers teamed up with police officers and local hunters to track down the kidnappers. The mission turned deadly when both sides started shooting at each other.

Haruna Tasusuno was helping with the rescue when bullets hit his stomach. The volunteer fighter died later at General Hospital in Okuta from his wounds. One criminal also died during the forest gun battle between security teams and the gang. Officials took an AK-47 weapon and 13 bullets from the dead kidnapper. Several other gang members ran away and disappeared into thick forest areas.

Angry community members burned the dead criminal before more security officers arrived at the scene. Hospital workers confirmed that both the kidnapped businessman and the volunteer had died from their injuries. Families buried both men using Islamic funeral traditions. Security teams continue hunting for the criminals who escaped into the wilderness. Officials promise to catch the remaining gang members who killed the innocent businessman.
