A Banjul judge approved an arrest warrant for Abdul Kamara yesterday. Principal Magistrate Muhammed Krubally signed the order after police said Kamara fled back home to Sierra Leone. The Sierra Leonean man faces charges for killing retired banker Reuben Andrews. This murder happened at Brufut Heights last Monday.
Police Prosecutor ASP E Sarr told the court that Interpol already knows about Kamara's escape. Sierra Leone police asked for official paperwork before they could grab him. They need this warrant to arrest Kamara and send him back to The Gambia. The accused goes by the nickname Rahmadan.
Magistrate Krubally completely agreed with the police request. He ordered Interpol agents from both countries to find and arrest Kamara as fast as possible. The warrant demands officers bring him straight to The Gambia after capture. He must face justice for the charges against him.
Court documents claim Kamara planned and carried out the killing of Reuben Andrews. Prosecutors charged him with a single count of murder. The legal papers say he acted with clear intent when he caused Andrews' death. Kamara faces trial once authorities bring him back across the border.
