Zanu PF Backs Dorothy Mabika as Manicaland Chair

Dorothy Mabika became the new chairperson of the ZANU PF Women's League in Manicaland Province. Party officials elected her on April 6 to replace Happiness Nyakuedzwa, who faced a two-year suspension from leadership roles. Women's Affairs Secretary Mabel Chinomona confirmed the appointment in a memo to provincial chairman Tawanda Mukodza.

Mabika previously served as deputy chairperson for the province. She plans to help women through empowerment projects. She wants women across Manicaland to unite to strengthen the party locally. She encourages them to focus on economic growth, peaceful living, and accessing government initiatives.

The new chairperson supports the Women's League position to extend President Mnangagwa's term until 2030. She believes his leadership remains necessary for Zimbabwe's development and stability. According to party officials, her appointment takes effect immediately. The memo went to several party leaders, including Secretary-General Obert Mpofu and Women's League Secretary Monica Mutsvangwa. Mabika expressed surprise and gratitude after her election to this leadership position.
